The Legend of Leo

Leo was an ordinary boy living on a farm in Newvale with had short blond hair and crystal blue eyes. It was always a happy day at Newvale with rivers and streams to play in on the sunny days. Fishing,farming, and hunting were the main things to do here. Firstly, Leo’s life was perfect and. considering he was stronger and faster then everyone else, chores and work were a breeze. He could carry and lift much more things then anyone in town. Leo was soon going to join the Rebel Army when he turned 21 which was only three more years. His parents allowed him to learn to the way of the sword near by town. . His father worked as a blacksmith for an armory making weapons and armor. Leo had an emergency sword hidden near his house. Life on the farm in Newvale was perfect especially playing with Petra. Petra was Leo’s large cinnamon brown dog with ash grey flecks in his large eyes . Petra always had a happy face on and loved to play with Leo. With every command Leo said Petra seemed to understand and follow the command, Petra seemed like the smartest dog in the world to Leo. His father had Petra as long as Leo could remember.

Leo’s father, Daniel sold tools,armor, and weapon at the port town, Arden for goods and wares to purchase and sell. The port was a large oval like area with its short oak and brick buildings resting on top. Whenever Leo and his dad visited the chatter filled the port. Usually, Daniel brought Leo with him and the talk there wasn’t surprising. Most of the time it was about the war. Gossip and rumors of what went on and the current situation. Leo rarely ignored and was usually informed this way.

In the beginning of creation there were two races, Humans and Elves. Elves had three times the strength,speed,and intelligence,life of humans. The only down side was they could only have a child every 25 years However, they rarely found humans and if the humans were found they were killed on the spot. Elves were much more sophisticated then their barbaric relatives. Most Elves considered humans them garbage. However some humans considered them the most beautiful creatures they had ever seen and out of pity cross breeding took place. From this a new species was made. This new species was the Half-Elf. They were almost stronger then the normal elf and even had a similar life span and could have children much earlier. Well, the Elves hated this and began a war with the Half-Elves. Elves considered humans and the new race inferior The Half-Elven cities were constantly invaded and fled to the side of the world were the humans lived. The humans being related to the Half-Elves side and began to battle too. However most battles were not that simple.

Elves had an attachable-cross bow that fit onto their arms like gloves that were automatic and very deadly. They also had Dishherta which in Elven meant rapier. These were longer then average and more flexible then the average sword making it a dangerous sword-like whip.The crossbow also could morph into a very strong shield.

Half-Elves used more of their brute strength then being as more weapon dependent. They had larger heavier, stronger, and thicker swords that were close to impossible to break. Skilled in heavy sword fighting and hand to hand combat they could inflict a large amount of damage very quickly. Certain half-elves could release blasts of air to knock back enemies however it took a large amount of energy to preform. However swords and crossbows were not the only part to the battle.

Argites were a creature that had the power to transform into any animal they thought or chose. It was the Elves that discovered how to tame the creatures. Most Argites main form was a red ball of energy. The Elves changed that red ball to green to symbolize it was taimed. However through spies most Half-Elves also have tamed Argites as their pet like the Elves. The Argites during war would mainly be wyverns, smaller versions of dragons but just as deadly, causing panic and danger around the battlefield. Some Argites are still untamed or escaped and attack and devour people.” Leo’s father finally finished his epic story. Leo’s head was filled with important information. They continued at the port and had a good time. Leo still remembered all the information to this date were the epic story for him begins.

Leo was walking home to pick up his sword and trained. Along the way he got to see all of his friends and people who, were not. Mainly the soldiers who patrolled the town. Newvale was a border town that lived on the edge of the Rebel army and the Elves. Only soldiers from the Elven side came. The town was a desolate place when the soldiers came. They questioned and bothered people. However they only came every few months, now they were frequent and coming every two days. It was one of those days however the sun was still shining. He went into the house and told his parents, “ I’m going out into the field outside of town to train.” His father replied with an uneasy voice saying, “ Make sure you’re careful.” Leo nodded with a stern nod and left with his sword. As he approached the gate one of the guards who knew him well said, “ Goin to train again ey?” Leo smiled and nodded. The guard opened the gate and Leo proceeded. He began running though the path. After a few minutes Leo turned off the path and walked up the hill. The breeze began to blow and the sun shined brighter then before. Leo put his hand on his forehead to block some of the sun and began looking through the field of yellow grain. Soon he saw something moving. He squinted and looked again. It was a red orb! Leo soon realized he had seen an untamed Argite, and it began moving toward him. Leo sheathed out his short black sword and began charging toward the Argite.

Before Leo reached there the Argite transformed into a giant spider with dark red eyes. Leo hopped back a bit. The Argite snarled, “ My, my what a handsome young man we have here. You know, you would look even better in my stomach.” Leo shuddered at the thought and began to charge at the Argite. Leo looked up to the Argite. Her red eyes pierced into his eyes. Eventually he felt like he wasn’t moving. He looked down and saw his feet were turning to stone. Leo smashed the stone and got ready to fight again. The Argite began shooting shots of webs to trap Leo. Leo began rolling side to side to dodge each shot. Soon the shots came faster. Leo had to start diving and rolling to avoid each shot. One shot managed to hit Leo’s leg. Before the spider could react Leo cut the webbing. “ This isn’t working. Let’s try something harder.” The Argite spider began transforming into a women with black hair and blazing red highlights. In her right hand she had a dark black obsidian sword. She soon charged at Leo with incredible speed. Leo barely managed to block her first swing when then, a kick for his ribs came knocking him over and rolling across the ground. As Leo got to his knees she came running at him again this time with another kick. This kick was to the face sending Leo even farther away then the first time and blood welling out of his mouth. Leo spat the blood out and got up again. Leo this time managed to sprint near her and aim a sweeping kick tripping her sending her on her back Leo then put his kick unto her chest with his sword tip to her face. Leo said,” Surrender now!” The Argite smiled and back flipped allowing her leg to kick Leo’s off of her and sending him into the ground. She grabbed Leo’s leg pulled back and threw him behind her sending him flying into the air and then unto the ground again. Leo got up in extreme anger. He then charged at the Argite and began swinging left and right. She managed to block his strikes but then one of them slit her face trickling some blood.The Argite kicked Leo in the chest sending him back. Leo staggered back, the Argite struck again this time with her sword slicing parts of Leo’s chest and scalp. Leo tried to block the strikes but to no avail. She uppercut Leo into the air, jumped grabbed his shirt and slammed him into the ground. She pulled him up into the air again and threw him onto the ground far away. “ This is no challenge.” She sneered “ I’ve fought rabbits stronger then you.” Leo was enraged. Leo charged at her with his full might. He began slashing like before but then swung her sword in a way she couldn’t block. She had to back flip over the blade., but before she managed to reach the ground again Leo charged to the area right when she landed clashing his and her sword together. However, this knocked her off balance and Leo began striking furiously left and right using his fist,weapon, and sword. Eventually the Argite regained her balance and blocked each strike. She then waited for her opportunity and thrust her sword out. Leo did not expect that and the sword stabbed him right in the stomach. Leo looked down and saw the sword in his chest and saw the scarlet blood slow dripping down. Leo’s head began hurting and his vision changing colors. Soon he fell over onto the ground with the Argite starting at him with her red eyes. Leo struggled to pull his arms up to protect himself. The last few things he saw was a green flash of light and then nothing.

When Leo woke up it as the late afternoon with the sun setting slowly. He struggled to get up. He managed to hobble back to NewVale. He slowly opened the gate with a loud creak. The soldiers turned to see what it was. As soon as they saw the boy they rushed to him. The head soldier asked, “ Who are you? Why are you here?” Leo told them, “ I am Leo. I live in NewVale.” The soldier questioned again,” What happened? Why are you so badly injured?” Leo had to think quick. If he told them he fought an Argite he would be arrested for possibly being a half-elf. Leo managed to stammer, “ Well, um, i was, um rocking climbing, and umm, i fell on a rock as i scraped myself up. Now if you can please stop questioning. I want to go home and bandage my wound.” “ What is that?” The soldier question. All of the soldiers looked at the glowing green light emitting from Leo’s palms. The soldiers all look at each other and nodded. The soldier told Leo in a firm voice,” You’re coming with me!” The man put a firm arm around Leo and began to drag away. Leo managed to pull his hand away and began running toward his house, The soldiers also began running at him with their spears being thrown. Leo managed to dodge side to side but he soon felt a shock through his body. He stopped for a moment but then continued to run. Leo made it too his house and his parents look with shock on his face. “ What happened?” His parents asked. “ These Elven guards are chasing me!” His parents looked at each other and nodded. His father spoke to him, “ Leo go to my room. Under my bed there is a box. Take it, and open up the hatch in the closet. Go now!” Leo did what his father said and hurried to the secret hatch. When he opened it led into a far hallway lit by some torches. As he continued walking down he felt the sharp pain of his wound and passed out.

When he woke up he saw Petra looking at him “Master are you alright?” Leo managed to lean upwards slowly. “Petra is that you?” “ Yes master it’s me what seems to trouble you?” Petra replied. “ Well” Leo began, “ How can you talk?” Petra shrugged his head and managed to give a doggy smile. “ Isn’t obvious?” Leo thought for a moment. “ You’re an Argite?” Petra nod his head and began to transform into a ball of green light. “ Come on” he said. “ Come follow down this path. We have a long way to go. Leo began running down the path following Petra. Eventually they reached a small area where Leo finally opened the box . Inside was some food,money, and a large type of sword he’d never seen before, and underneath the sword was a note from his parents. “ Leo, if you are reading this, then we have passed away and our mission was fufilled. As a child we did not tell you a lot of certain things. Firstly, your father was a half-elf. Secondly, your mother was an Elf. Because of your heritage you are the one chosen to defeat the Elves in the northern lands. The journey and path may be hard, but i believe you can do it. The sword you have is no ordinary sword. When you become strong enough that sword will be one of your greatest asset. Lastly, do not shead tears for us Leo. We know you will be sad but be strong, you will need to be for your adventure.

Tears streaked across Leo’s face. He managed to wipe his eyes however this did not help him. He realised what he needed to do. He got up, ate some of the food and fell asleep on the wall. He woke up again and began sprinting down the hall again. Days and days felt like the went down the path. Following the same pattern of running and rested. Eventually Leo’s wounds began to heal. Eventually, they entered a new room. It was a large hexagon arena. The ceiling was several feet high. Petra transformed into a man with gray hair and flecks in his eyes. He had two estocs and bent back into a fighting pose. “ Leo, today we will your fighting skills. You will need to be as strong as possible. Just as . you will try hard, so will I.” Petra explained. Leo nodded and sheathed the sword in the box. It was a large green and blade. Most of the blade was a dark black with a neon green line as the edge of the sword. The blade was long with another shorter edged used for guarding. Leo looked at the sword in admiration and prepared to charge Petra. For Leo the blade was light in his hand. Leo jumped into the air and overhead sliced Petra. Petra pulled both of his both swords up and blocked the air slice easily. Leo still had his sword pressed against Petra’s. However, because of Leo being in the air he had no force to push against Petra’s blade. Petra merely flicked his blade up sending Leo into the air. Petra then jumped to continue after him. They began to battle in the middle of the air. As the clanged blades Leo noticed they got higher and higher. Then Petra pulled his swords down toward Leo’s head. Leo had to block however this sent him down faster then they came up. This resulted in Leo crashing into the ground. Leo managed to still block Petra’s blade on one knee as he was on the ground. Leo low kicked Petra. Even though Leo missed this allowed him to stand as Petra hopped backwards. Leo ran again this time with a charge. As the blades clanged he began fighting holding the sword in one hand enabling him to use his other arm and legs. Leo began throwing left hooks and fast kicks toward Petra. As Petra dodged from side to side Leo often swung his sword. Then eventually Petra got backed up onto the side of the wall. Petra pulled both swords over his head and slammed them to the ground. This caused a gust of air sent him flying back into the near by wall. Leo shook himself and got out of the wall. Leo stopped for a moment and began to think of a plan. As he slowly got off of one knee he looked up at Petra. He pointed his sword toward Petra’s face. Petra merely smiled and prepared for what Leo would do. Leo ran diagonally near the closest wall. He jumped onto the side of the wall and began running. As he ran on the side of the wall he threw his sword in a boomerang like fashion toward Petra. Petra blocked the throw however this caught him off guard. As Petra watched the sword hit the wall, he missed the time too block and Leo managed to kick him straight in the face. This turned Petra’s head and even a little blood came out. Then he began running toward his sword. This was soon stopped by Petra who used a gust of air to pull him back. As he was thrown back Petra spun around and kicked Leo in the back sending him flying into the wall. As he crashed the imprint of the wall was deep. As he walked out he began planning again. “ Oh no you don’t!” Petra screamed. Petra ran toward Leo before Leo could get his sword out and began raining down thrusts. Leo quickly began moving side to side and dodging each thrust. He managed to free his blade and block the blow that almost cut him. Leo had an idea! He positioned himself to the back of the wall. Then Petra thrust both blades. Leo ducked and both blades went into the wall. Petra looked at Leo in surprise. Leo then began hitting Petra. Both in the face and in the stomach. He jabbed ten kicks at Petra and then used the blunt end of the sword to slam Petra into the wall. Petra grabbed the blade and threw it away. He ran towards Leo with speed Leo had never seen before. He grabbed Leo’s arm and pulled him into an uppercut. Then he grabbed Leo’s foot and sent it slamming into the ground. He then pulled up Leo again, swung him around and threw him again. Leo slammed into the wall with an explosion and a burst of dust. Then Petra ran at him again raining down punches digging him even further into the wall. Soon blood dripped from Leo’s mouth. One of the last punches Leo managed to block. He crumpled Petra’s hand and grabbed his sword firmly. He swung it and from the green line a flash of energy flung out hitting Petra and sending him far into the opposite corner of the room with an even louder crash. That crash was the last crash he heard before falling.
As his vision began to return he looked up to see Petra staring at him. As he slowly got up Petra looked at him and said, “ Sorry for such a harsh battle. I didn’t mean to hurt you that badly.” Leo smiled and said, “ It doesn’t hurt that badly.” Just as before they continued down the path. Soon real light shone in Leo’s eyes again as the tunnel ended them in the forest. Petra told Leo to sleep as he got some firewood for the night. Leo fell asleep for a good amount of time until he heard the trees rustling with chatter and movement. Leo slowly got up and sheathed his heavy sword. A bolt of lightning came from one of the trees. Leo jumped to the side to avoid it. Then blasts of fire struck multiple times. Leo rolled to avoid these. Soon a man in red outfit jumped from one of the trees with a bright red cutlass. He charged at Leo and prepared to attack. Leo blocked each and every move. Then a shot of fire blasted out of the man’s hands. Leo managed to duck right at the last second. The fire went right past him, Leo then leg swept the man and punched him sending him into a near by tree. As the man in the red outfit was knocked out another man came out with a yellow outfit. He had two long daggers in each hand.The man did not hesitate to strike and quickly began hammering away with a torrent of daggers.The daggers had too small of an area of effect and Leo only had to hold his sword up. The man realised and jumped into the air. He began storming down quick kicks, this also proved ineffective. The man back flipped and threw his two daggers toward the exposed parts of Leo. Leo hopped back and prepared to charge as the man hit the ground. As soon as Leo began charging the man the man fired bolts of electricity at Leo. As he jumped into the air two of the strikes missed and struck the ground. The third and final strike managed to strike Leo’s foot. Leo felt the pain surge up his foot as he landed to the ground. The man shot more shots of lightning in multiple charges. Leo blocked each shot and ran toward the man. Leo then managed$\ to slash the side of the man and then kicked him in the stomach sending him into a tree. As the bandit thudded A against the large brown oak. Then from a tree to his left a sai came toward him. Leo hopped back as the sai crashed into the brown earth.A woman then dropped down from the shadows of the large trees she wore a light blue clothing and a blue bandana. Soon water began warping around her hands. Then the water extended outwards in a hand like shape and grabbed Leo’s ribs and crushing them. She then pulled back with her left hand and punched Leo in face sending him tumbling past most forest area. As he managed to roll himself up and used his hands to slow himself and sprung himself even faster then he threw back. The women turned the hand into ice shrapnels and began to fire them at Leo. Leo started to run trying so that the sharp shrapnel would pierce him. Some began too however as he traveled he noticed everything around him began to slow down. Even the shrapnels moved at a slow speed. he could move side to side dodging each and everyone as simple as a bird. Before he reached the women he jumped. As he jumped he went flying into the air and went extremely far. As soon as he got to the women he punched her in the stomach sending her flying into the tree almost knocking it over. Rock walls began across the ground toward Leo. He used his sword to cut through the on coming rocks. Each rock sent Leo back further and further until one of the rocks hit him knocking him into the ground. As he got up again the man jumped down from the tree and slammed his hand into the ground. As his hand cracked the rock the cracks opened up spikes that began moving toward Leo. As Leo hopped to the side the spikes changed it direction. Then Leo began running again and time slowed down. Leo jumped over the spikes but there was another one before he landed. He flipped, and pressed his 6hands off the spike and extended his leg out to kick the man. As the man slowly flew back Leo kept running and struck the man repeatedly. He then uppercut the man sending him into the air. As the man fell back down he smashed threw the earth. The rocks covered the area the man was in. Two large rock hands came out of the hole. The hole extended outwards to reveal a large golem. The Golem extended his hand out and grabbed Leo. It then threw him sending him into a much flatter area were the golem proceeded to chase after him. Leo back flipped to slow himself down. Then he pulled his sword into the ground to stop himself from moving. Leo then started to run toward the golem dodging all of the rocks and fists from the golem. The golem responded by slamming its arms down creating a wave of rocks and dust. As Leo saw this happen he jumped over the oncoming wall and then thrust his sword out to pierce the golem. As it hit the golem it barley made a dent. The golem’s chest where Leo a large boulder launched off and sent Leo with it. As it soared through the air Leo managed to climb to the top of it. A few seconds before the boulder crashed to the ground Leo soared off of it. Leo realized this wouldn’t work. He tried gathering energy in his sword training and tried again. As he started running his sword the green line on his sword began to glow even brighter then usual. As he pulled his sword for the blow the green light extended off his sword and hit the golem with a loud crash. As the dust cleared from the imp act most of the golem’s left leg was mostly missing. Leo tried to make the same thing and successfully took off the left leg of the golem. As the the golem began falling and the man was exposed. Parts of the golem fell out and soon the man fell down from the high area and thudded to ground. Meanwhile, Petra noticed what was going on and ran toward the loud noises. As Leo watched the rocks collapse to the ground a blast of air sent him across back near the forest. Leo stood back up and saw the final man in white clothing with a very long sword. The man sent another blast of air however Leo pulled his sword and the air went right past him. The man fired another blast of air. In return Leo then launched another green blast cutting through the wind and sending the man back. Leo fell onto one knee and felt the effects of using to much energy. The man managed to get up and sent blasts of air that cut up Leo and summoned a ball of air that started to pull everything in. As Leo got dragged forwards the man punched him in the face. Leo realised he couldn’t win and fell. The man began walking toward Leo with an evil grin on his face. The man stopped moving with a shock of horror on his face. The man fell over with a light thud. Then he realised Petra had help him and began to get up again. Petra began to transform into a horse and told Leo, “ Get on my back.” Leo did so and Petra began galloping. Before Leo could realise where they were going he fell asleep. As he Leo began to woke up he noticed he was in a wooden room with a table. There was also another bed and another table. As he got up he picked up his sheath and his sword was inside. He noticed the door and walked down the stairs in the next room. He found the stairs in the hallway and began walking down. As he went down each stair he heard Petra and the innkeeper talking. “ So why is heading to the north so bad?” Petra asked with a curious face. The burly innkeeper replied in a gruff voice, “ It'll be best if you and yer friend don’t head in that direction. Bah, anyone going that way is asking for a death sentence.” Peta still looked confused. “ So what is there, friend?” Petra asked. The man looked at him with a earnest look at began, “ Well just a fortnight ago close to midnight the sound of footsteps echoed through the forest. People went to check it out however only one near death made it back. Before all he died he managed to say, orcs. We managed to figure out a whole tribe was there going to defend anyone from that area. So stay away!” The bartender left the room. Petra began walking up the stairs toward Leo. “ Ah Leo, just the person I wanted to see. Come follow me, i need to explain a lot of things to you before we continue. As the began to hop up the mahogany stairs they reopened the door and Petra pulled out a parchment showing a map. He pointed his finger toward an image of a waterfall. “ This is the area we will be heading in. This will help you unlock your hidden talents and true potential.
